Field Applications Engineer (FAE)

Job Summary
We are looking to grow our team with an experienced Traffic Signal Technician working as our Colorado-based Field Applications Engineer (FAE). Our FAEs help manage equipment installations, provide technical support and help ensure the highest level of customer success. Residence is required in Colorado.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help customers deploy, configure, and troubleshoot ITS equipment
  • Train customers on newly purchased products
  • Check-in with customers after product installations to ensure desired functionality
  • Conduct regular customer site visits to update products and strengthen customer relationships
  • Manage RMAs and vendor support tickets including submitting requests from customers to suppliers, retrieving and shipping RMA’s, and updating customers on problem-status
  • Help identify new business opportunities, promote products, and increase customer satisfaction
  • Observe all common safety practices associated with tools, equipment, and work environment

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Five years experience in signal installation, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II. Preference for IMSA Traffic Signal Senior Field Technician Level III
  • Experience with traffic signal controllers, traffic cabinets, and detection systems. Preference for applicants with previous experience configuring GRIDSMART detection systems as well as communications equipment.
  • Team-focused work ethic that focuses on problem solving, patience, and flexibility

Expectations
Our FAEs need to be extremely responsive to requests and proactive in reaching out to, updating, and assisting our customers. When a support request is received, our FAE will generally be expected to follow the 1-24 rule: respond within one hour, have a resolution, or follow-up, within 24 hours.

Travel Requirement
Travel is expected on an as-needed basis. It is estimated that our Colorado-based FAE will travel overnight for about three nights per month. Overnight travel will typically be limited to Colorado and Wyoming. This is an estimate as some months may require more or less travel depending on job requirements  During initial training, travel should be expected at a higher rate.
